I have developed an app for Nokia smart Phones to keep you up to date with my activities. You can download it for free from the Ovi app shop. You can follow academic or professional items or both.
The app has been validated by Nokia and should work satisfactorily with most modern Nokia smartphones.

Alan has been signed up to support his third NWDA innovation voucher in six months. The voucher is to work with frank design ltd on a new web based facility. More details will be given once the work has been completed. You can find out more about the company at www.frankdesignltd.co.uk.

Alan is currently working with the Hope Street Centre in Liverpool (www.hopestreetcentre.com) on an innovation voucher on modelling to assist in commissioning decisions and supporting a project on early detection of cancer.

AG has launched an online document store at www.docstoc.com to make documents available to a wider audience. Some will be free and some will be chargeable. For example, launch documents include a series of working papers on IT for physicians which were derived from work in Romania. To maximise coverage in Eastern Europe, these are provided free. AG is currently working with the Hope Street Centre in Liverpool on two projects supported by an NWDA innovation voucher. The first is around analysing data from an audit of early detection of cancer of part of a national project. The second is concerned with modelling new models of dleivery of health care services with the goal of reducing costs AND improving the quslity of service. If World Class Commissioning is to live up to its goals, then it needs more examples like this.

AG has launched his first independent e-commerce site at www,gallery299.co.uk. The model is a budget art site with A4 stylised black and white prints available for download for the princely sum of £2.99.
The site uses PayPal to process payment, which means that the site itself retains no personal data.

I did! my latest web development work was carried out for Avergo Ltd under an innovation voucher from the NorthWest Development Agency. The website was designed to form the basis of a new on-line knowledge business.

The intial site at www.avergo.at is designed to develop with the business. It was developed on the Joomla platform and includes e-commerce functionality for future business growth.

During 2008 and 2009, my web presence grew significantly and the result was that the diverse nature of content led to difficulties in providing a suitable structure to enable users to access the content they wanted to.

Therefore, for 2010, I am launching three parallel sites aimed at different audiences with distinct content and a few links between them as required.

The foundation domain is now www.alangillies.info . This provides access to all three sites.
